SPARTA rebranded as Cobham

As of today, my employer, SPARTA, Inc., will be doing business under the Cobham brand. More specifically, it will be known as "SPARTA, Inc., doing business as Cobham Analytic Solutions."

My new email address is the same as the old, with "Cobham" substituted for "SPARTA". Telephone remains the same.

I've been "sold" again.

Three years ago, I was preparing for the announced sale of McAfee Research to SPARTA, Inc. Today, Cobham plc announced an agreement to buy SPARTA, Inc., for $416 million in cash. SPARTA's board has recommended acceptance of the agreement by SPARTA's employee-shareholders. Subject to regulatory approvals and a shareholder vote, the transaction should close in April or May, and SPARTA will become a fully-owned subsidiary of Cobham.

I had no previous knowledge of Cobham, and have no inside information on their goals and plans for SPARTA, beyond what's in their announcement. I don't expect substantial changes in the short term.

I've left SPARTA, Inc., doing business as Cobham Analytic Solutions.

I've parted amicably from SPARTA, and am preparing to join Advanced Elemental Technologies. No, I can't tell you yet what AET does, but I can say that I'm excited about the opportunity.

Sale of SPARTA consumated

I previously posted about the proposed sale of SPARTA. It's now happened.

Today SPARTA, Inc. officially became a subsidiary of Cobham plc.

My job has not changed, just its corporate framework.
